We first started out with a barrel of Shiraz from Mclaren made in the old Italian ripasso style that was put on our chariot (holden ute ‘87’) to meet a unlikely marriage, Montepulciano from the Adelaide Hills.

We were seeking a savory beast that was not currently out there in Australia. Something that satisfied our thirst for dry, leathery Italian reds but also had the weight and power of South Australia. We were not sure if we were doing the right thing but blending (roughly) sixty-five percent Shiraz and thirty-five percent Montepulciano made us all smile in the winery. Seven Deadly Vins gave birth to “Amicus Amico” – from one friend to another.

We have dedicated our lives to seeking out wines that are unique, memorable and categorized as “new breed”. Seven Deadly Vins is a journey from humble beginnings, 100 dozen of a Shiraz Montepulciano to finding a meaning behind why we need to taste wines that challenge what we already know. In our heart we intend to give (the) wine drinker pleasure, memories and above all an experience.

We craft our wines with the following love triangle, flavorful, ripe and balanced and we hope this is a reflection when your pour a glass of Seven Deadly Vins.
